The R-word (and others)

We Christians have special reason not to use disparaging language.

We’re told, “For he who is least among you all is the one who is great” (Luke 9:48, ESV). We know that every person is created in the image of God and is therefore worthy of love and respect (Genesis 1:26). We’re shown that even religious extremists and IRS agents are prime candidates for the mercies of God (See Saul in Acts 9 and Matthew 9:9, respectively).

If we really understood the magnitude of Christ’s love, I’m convinced that this campaign wouldn’t be necessary for us, but I’m sure it is. I can think of a few other words that deserve more consideration in my speech. You?
